The Universal carrier was introduced in 1940 to replace previous models of Bren Gun Carrier. It was used to transport men and equipment and carried a variety of guns,. Bren, Boyes anti-tank as well as other machine gun types.

It weighed around 3 tons and was 12 feet long. Around 113,000 were built.

This is the Wasp IIC (C for Canadian) flame thrower version of the carrier. 75 gallons of fuel were carried in a single tank outside the rear of the vehicle. Some 1,000 models of the Wasp were built.
