Carden Loyd Carrier (closed)

The Carden Loyd was a British pre-WWII tankette produced in various forms. The most successful was the MkVI. Some 450 were built by Vickers-Armstrong between 1927 and 1935.

It weighed 1.5 tons and had a crew of 2.

Poland used the Carden Loyd design to create their own TK tankettes after purchasing 10 from the UK. Czechoslovakia and Russia did the same, making their own versions. Similar developments occurred with Japan, Italy and Bolivia.

They were armed with a .303 Vickers machine gun.

Churchill Crocodile
Model comes as 5 parts; hull, tracks, turret & trailer.

The Crocodile was a variant of the Tank, Infantry, Mk VI (A22) Churchill Mark VII, and was adapted as a flamethrower vehicle.

It was in service in 1944 and 1945 and also saw action in the Korean War.

It had a crew of six; commander, gunner, driver, radio operator/loader, flamethrower gunner, co-driver/hull gunner. It had a 6.5 ton armoured trailer which carried 400 gallons of fuel as well as  gas propellant. There was enough fuel for 80 one-second bursts of flame.

The turret contained the main gun as well as the flamethrower so it could be operated as a normal tank with its QF 75mm gun.

Some 800 coversion kits were made and some were fitted to the Mk VIII Churchill also.

The MkIV (A22) Churchill was a British infantry tank. It came in several versions from Mk I to Mk VIII.

1,622 Mk IVs were produced. The NA75 was a Mk IV 210 of which were refitted in North Africa with the 75mm guns from battle-damaged M4 Shermans.

The F-60 was a Canadian designed and produced truck made to British standards for use in the forces of the Commonwealth. As such they saw service with Canada & Britain as well as Australia and New Zealand. Some were also sent top the Soviet Union.

Over 500,000 CMP trucks were produced, some 410,000 of which were in Canada.

The F-60 was just one of a number of styles of CMP truck.

Comet
This model cones as two parts, hull & turret.

The Comet entered World War II in 1944 and remained in service with the British Army until 1958.

It was designed to improve upon the earlier Cromwell. It featured a new 77mm HV gun which could defeat the armour of a German Panther at medium range and sometimes a Tiger at close range. It also had 2 7.92mm Besa machine guns.

1,200 Comets were produced by the time the war ended. They weighed 32.7tonnes and had a crew of 5; Commander, gunner, loader/operator, driver & hull gunner.

The Coventry was made too late to see service in WWII however, some were sold to France after the war anbd they were used in French Indochina.

The Mk III was in service in the British Army between 1938 and 1941.

It was armed with a QF 2 pounder gun and a .303 Vickers machine gun.

They saw action with the British Expeditionary Force in France as well as in Greece and the Western Desert in Libya.

They had a crew of four; commander, driver, gunner and loader. 65 units were made.

The MK I was in service with the British Army between 1938 and 1941.

It weighed almost 13 tons. It was fitted with a main turret and two smaller turrets and was armed with a QF 2 pounder gun and 3 .303 Vickers machine guns.

It had a crew of six; commander, gunner, loader, driver and 2 machine gunners
