Model comes in 2 parts; Body & Turret.

The Sd.Kfz 231 (6 Rad) was a 6-wheeled reconnaissance vehicle. It was produced from 1932 to 1935 and 123 were made.

It was armed with a 20mm QF gun and a Mauser MG13 or later MG 34 machine gun.

It was found to be underpowered and after June 1940 was phased out and moved to driver training schools. It was replaced with an 8-wheeled version.

The Sd.Kfz 231 (6 Rad) was a 6-wheeled reconnaissance vehicle. It was produced from 1932 to 1935 and 928 were made.

It was armed with a 20mm QF gun and a Mauser MG13 or later MG 34 machine gun.

The 6-wheel version was produced from 1931 to 1936. It was replaced with an 8-wheeled version in 1937.

The 243/2 depicted here had a turret with a 5cm L/60 gun. It was produced from September 1943 until September 1944. The radio operator could drive the vehicle backwards in an emrgency.

This 234/2 is often referred to as the Puma but apparently this was neither an officia or unofficial nickname for the vehicle.

The 251 was designed to carry 10 mechanised troops into battle. Some 15,250 251s were produced during the course of the war. Although referred to as the 'Hanomag' which was the company who designed the model, they were made by several companies including Hanomag, Horch, Adlerwerke and Skoda.

Weighing some 7.8 tonnes it was capable of a speed of 32mph.

The 17 was originally and anti aircraft vehicle armed with a 2cm KwK38 gun on a pedestal. Later in the war it was issued as a platoon commander's vehicle, of which this is a model.

The Sdkfz 251 was the Hanomag halftrack armoured personnel carrier which served in all theatres throughout the war. The 251 came in at least 22 different configurations with four variants, Ausf(uhrung) A, B, C, & D for different roles.

The 20 was introduced in late 1944.It had a 60cm infrared searchlight to illuminate targets in the dark. They guided IR equipped Panther tanks onto targets. The light had a range of 1.5km, longer than the small IR lights fitted to the Panthers.
