The M10 was developed in 1942 and first saw action in Tunisia in 1943. Around 6,400 were produced between September 1942 and December 1943.
It was equipped with a 3inch M7 gun and a .50 calibre Browning machine gun.
It was crewed by five; commander, loader, gunner, driver and assistant driver. It was also used by the British Free French, Russians and Chinese.
